Statement of Purpose

The People Task force aims to support employers, those already working in the spa/wellness industry and those who would like a career in this field by the provision of workshops, training sessions and voluntary guidelines covering all aspects of recruitment, people development and positive human capital management.

  • Generic Competency Checklists Part 2
  • Career Days – ongoing throughout the year – we need support from local associations to further this work
  • Grass Roots Talks – still looking for associations in the field to support this initiative
  • 2 E-learning training courses in support of the EU grant for Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines to ensure the ongoing interest in, and benefit of this wonderful project across the spa/wellness community in the region – we are looking for USD20,000 of funding to make this happen
  • Development of open source presentations for Careers Day and Grass Roots talks – available to all constituent associations
  • Careers Days – Bali 2008
  • Careers Day – informal support – Phuket 2009
  • Generic Competency Checklists that state the measurable behaviours, knowledge and skills that can be seen when a job is being done well. These checklists can be used in recruitment and selection as well as for ther assessment of ongoing performance. Completed for:
    • Spa manager
    • Spa therapist
    • Beauty therapist
    • Receptionist
