Andrew has been involved in the Hospitality industry for almost 40 years. His broad background in cooking has seen his skills be exposed to various cuisines around the world, before bringing his culinary skills to Thailand in 1995 where he progressively moved into spa operations. His culinary abilities were recognized by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller UK when his food was voted best spa cuisine in the world (1998-2000). A passionate believer in the sharing of knowledge, he is a sought after speaker, both as an industry educator, and as a passionate ambassador of the Asian spa industry. He has been actively involved in spa industry associations and events, including 5 years as Chairman, World Spa & Well-being Convention (under the Thai Spa Association), and is Managing Director of Spa Origins International, a niche market distribution company in Thailand. Other not-for-profit activities include: Auditor, HAPA Awards (Malaysia); Judge, AsiaSpa Awards (Hong Kong); Honorary Advisor, Thai Spa Association; Executive Director, Tourism Technology Association; and Global Wellness Day Ambassador Thailand.

Phattiraporn has entered her experience in spa and wellness industry more than 10 years with initially passion of health and beauty from Thai traditional and natural ingredients and recipes. Working life has been in exporting spa products, spa consulting, spa educator and speaker. Besides, she volunteered to support and promote the industry by being a committee member and Vice President of Thai Spa Association (TSPA) for a number of years, where she currently continues in an advisory role. She sees a great opportunity to liaison with government sectors and connect with international spa and wellness organizations and associations for collective growth.

JulieGarrow has pioneered statistically reliable, spa industry research since 2001. As Founder and Managing Director of Intelligent Spas, she developed the uniquely independent “Global Spa Benchmark Program” and has published close to 100 industry and consumer reports, operations manuals and training guides to help spas and hotels enhance their performance via actionable research and operational efficiencies. Julie was invited to author a chapter entitled “Spa Industry Benchmarking” in the text book ‘Understanding the Global Spa Industry’ published by Elsevier, plus was awarded "Distinguished Industry Leader" in The Crystal Awards Asia Pacific, nominated by industry peers to acknowledge and reward an individual who has made a positive contribution to the spa industry. Julie also founded SpaAndWellnessAdvisor.com to help people achieve physical, mental, social and workplace wellness by connecting them with service providers they relate to, based on experience promises. Prior to establishing Intelligent Spas, she represented major organisations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (Singapore), Southern Pacific Hotels (Sydney) and KPMG (Melbourne). Julie graduated with a Bachelor of Business specialising in Tourism, Management and Marketing.

Extensive knowledge in spa technical design, new business generation, revenue growth, legendary standards, quality branding, training, strategic development, sales and marketing of luxury international hotel spas and premium image wellness facilities. She has operated multiple facilities and led several to becoming world recognized award-winning spas. Vikki has exceptional communication and presentation skills especially in guest relations and key client relationship management, is a Certified Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Global Wellness Day Ambassador Philippines.

Ayu’s more than 20 years’ industry experience began with Mandara Spa in Bali, under the tutelage of Jeff Matthews. For 11 years she was successfully involved in spa operations and management in spas across Indonesia & Malaysia, before she moved to Energy Day Spa, to better understand the Day Spa sector of the industry. In 2007 she launched her own spa equipment and consulting company, Cemara Ayu Sdn. Bhd,. She holds a certificate in Executive Development Program from Cornell University, USA where she majored in Spa Management. She is also involved with spa education through her work with IBD (UTM) and has held Board positions in both the Association of Malaysian Spas (AMSPA) and Malaysian Association of Wellness and SPA (MAWSPA).
Master of Spa, Donald Spa
Popularly known as MASTER OF SPA in Nepal, is a spa Consultant and Operator. A pioneer even in Malaysia, now operates three spas at renowned 5 star hotels and two day spas in Malaysia. Four in Nepal and three in Bhutan. Donald is the man who knows about spa. He has been in the industry for almost 15 years and has been actively involved with the Asia Pacific Spa and Wellness Coalition and the Spa & Wellness Association of Nepal. He is, without a doubt, master of his craft. With spas in Malaysia, Nepal and Bhutan, Cha has revolutionized the spa industry in Nepal and continues to do so elsewhere around the world. The upcoming opening of a wellness retreat in Kathmandu ( Sept, 2018 ), complete with Kneipp Therapy, Hydrotherapy Circuit, Experience Shower, Hamamm, Salt Room Helotherapy, Oxygen Chamber among others, is just one of his many endeavors currently underway. Some of the projects, Donald is proud of are, as Project Manager, conceptualizing the Banjaran Hot Spring Resort in Malaysia, a Spiritualilty Spa in New York, a part of a wellness retreat in Zamzibar, Tanzania, a day spa with indoor pool in Vietnam, among others. Ask “what is the success formula?” Cha re-iterates that there is no short cut. Industry best practices, understanding the customer’s need, high level of integrity are among some of the guiding principles in his spas. Cha continue to say that the industry has gone beyond fad, will continue to grow and has become an important element in the tourism and preventive health care sector. Cha, the industry friends known his passionately as Donald, is passionate about the industry. He has jointly organized a few international industry conferences, a sough after speaker and has no qualms in sharing his experiences. Under the aegis of The Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition, Donald had organized a very successful Study Tour to Nepal and another to Bhutan, that had earned him ‘ hard to match’ as gestured by the Chairman, Mr Andrew Jacka, of the APSWC.

Putu, has over 15 years’ experience in pre and post-opening operations of spas in Bali and is a certified Spa Auditor. She has a formal background in management system information business and is a graduate from the IT University, Gunadarma – Jakarta, Indonesia, and has previously worked in publishing with Forum Keadilan Magazine, Indonesia. She is also on the Board of the Bali Spa and Wellness Association (BSWA)

Barry has over 25 years of experience developing creating, operating spa, wellness and fitness businesses around the globe. Spending 12 years in charge of the global operations and development of Chuan Soas for Langham Hotels & Resorts. He also established the Chuan Academy, the first ITEC accredited hotel spa training academy, and in 2017 he launched his own company White to provide a range of specialist services for the industry including project analysis, financial projections, comprehensive technical capabilities, pre-opening, brand development, services/product partnerships & development and operational management.

After eight years exploring wellness primarily in Asia, but also worldwide, as Editor and Editor-at-large for AsiaSpa magazine, Catharine returned to freelancing writing, editing and photography. She is a regular contributor to wellness, lifestyle and travel publications for both consumers and trade, print and online including her own blow www.spasandbeyond-blog.com, as well as writing website and EDM content, press releases and spa menus. She particularly enjoys interviewing the people behind the spas, fitness centres, spa studios and nutrition programmes, and finding out about the passion they bring to their businesses, as well as their dreams for the future of the industry. She loves her base in Hong Kong where she has lived for over 20 years, but has plans for a more mobile future.

Kevin is a Belgium entrepreneur with a background in Marketing-Management. Based in Bangkok since 2009, it didn't take him long to enter the scene of volunteering for the industry. At 24 years old he became the youngest board member ever on the board of the Thai Spa Association. He is one of the founders of Welify, a company well known for the distribution of medical and beauty equipments and award winning spa brands like LPG and comfort zone. He has developed several business strategies to keep Welify at the forefront of the Industry making sure the company remains a part of continuously feeding innovation into the beauty, spa & wellness industry in the region. Kevin's vision for Welify is to redefine how everybody thinks about wellness, and to make wellness the umbrella for all services and treatments focussed on the wellbeing of consumers. That resulted obviously in their company's tagline "Redefining Wellness". He is also a founding member of the working committee behind of World Spa & Wellness Asia (WSWA).
