Asia-Pacific Spa & Wellness Community Celebrates Innovation and Excellence at 2026 APSWC Awards
The Asia Pacific region, long celebrated for its rich and diverse spa and wellness heritage, continues to lead the way in embracing wellness as an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Despite global challenges, the region’s spa and wellness industry remains resilient, dynamic, and ever evolving.
This spirit of innovation and excellence was on full display at the 2026 APSWC Awards, where top operators, products, and industry leaders were honoured for their outstanding contributions to the spa and wellness industry. The prestigious awards are adjudicated by a distinguished panel of 27 experts spanning spa, fitness, wellness, tourism, and business sectors, representing 22 countries across the region — from Japan to New Zealand and India to Fiji and this year as far afield as Barbados, Hungary, South Africa and Tunisia.
To ensure both credibility and inclusivity, the Operator and Product categories incorporate a public voting element, which is weighted equally (50%) with the panel’s assessment. This year, nearly 10,000 public votes were cast, reflecting strong engagement and resulting in intense competition across several categories.
Winners were presented with a custom-designed trophy, handcrafted exclusively for the APSWC Awards in Indonesia. Each trophy is sustainably produced from coconut wood, underscoring the APSWC’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility.
First launched in 2023, the APSWC Awards have rapidly evolved, with categories expanding to reflect the fast-changing landscape of the wellness industry. In 2026, a total of 31 awards were presented across 30 categories, recognising excellence from 13 countries: Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia,, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, The Netherlands, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Thailand was the top-performing nation, taking home six trophies, of which four went to Thailand’s Minor Group for their spa and wellness operations
The APSWC Board recognized Mrs. Lulu Susian Widjaja, from Indonesia, and Mrs. Julie Garrow, Singapore with Lifetime Achievement awards their enduring impact on the spa and wellness industry in the Asia Pacific and beyond. This is the first time that the APSWC Board has deemed it appropriate to present two Lifetime Achievement awards in one year.
The APSWC Awards continue to shine a spotlight on both individuals and companies for driving innovation and setting new standards in spa and wellness across the Asia-Pacific region.

About the APSWC:
The Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition was officially registered as a not-for-profit trade association in Singapore in July 2007, with a mission to act as a bridging mechanism between countries to promote, protect, educate, and develop the spa & wellness industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
Since its launch, the Asia-Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition (APSWC) has grown in both size and reputation. It is a regional body which links the national spa associations and key industry players from the Asia-Pacific nations and seeks to address the challenges presented by the evolution and growth of the Asian Pacific spa industry through education, protection, promotion and development of the industry in the region. As of March 2026, the APSWC Board of dedicated industry professionals live in Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore & Thailand, and work on a 100% voluntary basis to represent over 1,000 spa and wellness operators and related businesses across the Asia Pacific and beyond, with a changing membership structure that is expecting significant growth in representation in 2026.
The APSWC also holds an annual Round Table event, bringing together key industry players from across the region to discuss problems and solutions which is then presented to the industry, regional governments, media, and relevant third parties via a White Paper to help give guidance to both the industry and those responsible for its governance. The 2026 APSWC Industry White Paper will be released in mid-May 2026 on the APSWC website www.apswc.org
