
Awards Categories – Operator
Voting in Operator categories shall be done by the Awards Judging Panel and the General Public on a weighted basis where public votes account for 50% of the total category vote.
Voting by public will be done online, while voting by the judging panel shall be done by email.
General Public vote – one vote per person.
Only votes cast by 17.00 Sunday 5 April 2026 will be considered valid.
24. DAY / CLUB SPA OF THE YEAR
- Must be legally registered as a spa business and adheres to all local licensing regulations.
- Must have been operating for at least one year. (Those operating for less than one year will be considered under the Newcomer award category)
- Must have at least five treatment rooms / areas.
- Must have at least six full time staff, including four full-time therapists.
- Must have a documented Spa Marketing Plan, including detailed action plans.
- Must have documented Standard Operating Procedures for Treatment Protocols
- Must have documented Standard Operation Procedures for Operational Management
- Must have a documented Training Plan and Training Records on file.
- Offers at least two (2) different types of water-based therapies (i.e. steam, sauna, experience showers, hydro baths) other than Jacuzzi.
- Offers a variety of spa & well-being treatments including body & facial treatments.
- Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to Sustainability.
DAY / CLUB SPA OF THE YEAR award application must include:
- Registration as a Spa business
- At least 3 professional photographs of the spa (minimum 300dpi)
- A floor plan of the spa - one A4 page per level is required.
- A one paragraph summary of the spas concept & operating philosophy.
- A work schedule for all staff covering a seven day period in the past month
- An excerpt of the Marketing Plan of not more than one page.
- An example of a Marketing Plan Activity (event photo, social media post etc.)
- An excerpt of the Standard Operating Procedures of two (2) Treatment protocols.

25. MEDI SPA OF THE YEAR
- Must be legally registered as a medi-spa business and adheres to all local licensing regulations.
- Must have been operating for at least one year. (Those operating for less than one year will be considered under the Newcomer award category)
- Provides a space of healing, rest and rejuvenation for mind, body and spirit.
- Has a menu offering which may include Dermalogica treatments, Allopathic services, Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) treatments, Ayurvedic treatments, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Naturopathy or other natural or traditional medical practices that deliver therapeutic health benefits. May also offer other spa and wellness treatments.
- Must have at least five treatment rooms / areas.
- Must have at least six full time staff, including four full-time therapists.
- Must have at least one license medical practitioner.
- Must have a documented Marketing Plan, including detailed action plans.
- Must have documented Standard Operating Procedures for Treatment Protocols
- Must have documented Standard Operation Procedures for Operational Management
- Must have a documented Training Plan and Training Records on file.
- Offers at least two (2) different types of water-based therapies (i.e. steam, sauna, experience showers, hydro baths) other than Jacuzzi.

- Must have documented Standard Operating Procedures for Treatment Protocols
- Must have documented Standard Operation Procedures for Operational Management
- Must have a documented Training Plan and Training Records on file.
- Offers a variety of wellness treatments. May also offer spa treatments for the body and face.
- Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to Sustainability.
- Has at least one (1) licensed medical practitioner on-site as permanent staff.
- Offers a lifestyle consultation and personalised programs to each guest.
- Offers opportunities for guest education, through a library, seminars and/or classes.
- Provides an environment that is non-smoking, and which restricts unhealthy or stress-inducing practices, such as consumption of alcohol or use of personal communication devices or computers.

- Must offer a wellness experience program of at least three days, including meals (full board)
- Must have a documented Marketing Plan, including detailed action plans.
- Must have documented Standard Operating Procedures for Treatment Protocols
- Must have documented Standard Operation Procedures for Operational Management
- Must have an emergency response manual
WELLNESS TOURISM HOTEL OF THE YEAR award application must include:
- Register as a wellness business with accommodation facilities.
- A copy of the practitioner’s license to practice in the country.
- At least 3 professional photographs of the business premises (minimum 300dpi)*
- A floor plan of the wellness facilities showing all required facilities - one A4 page per level is required.
- A one paragraph summary of the resorts concept & operating philosophy*
- A work schedule for all staff covering a seven-day period in the past month

- Must have a licensed health practitioner as a full-time staff.
- Must have a documented Marketing Plan, including detailed action plans.
- Must have documented Standard Operating Procedures for Treatment Protocols
- Must have documented Standard Operation Procedures for Operational Management
- Must have a documented Training Plan and Training Records on file.
- Offers a variety of wellness treatments. May also offer spa treatments for the body and face.
- Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to Sustainability.

- Must have documented Standard Operation Procedures.
- Must have a documented Training Plan and Training Records on file.
- Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to Sustainability.
- Able to provide a lifestyle or mental wellbeing consultation and personalised programs to each client if requested.
- Provides an environment that is non-smoking, and which restricts unhealthy or stress-inducing practices, such as consumption of alcohol or use of personal communication devices or computers.
MEDITATION / MENTAL WELLBEING CENTRE OF THE YEAR award application must include:

- Open to a spa / wellness provider of any type, e.g. Day Spa, Hotel/Resort Spa, Wellness Resort, etc. who has a service menu offering above and beyond a ‘relaxation’ menu.
- Offers a variety of spa and wellness services which may include services which address the Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual, Social and/or Environmental dimensions of wellness and which are performed manually, mechanically, or technologically.
- Must be offered in a legally registered spa or wellness business and adheres to all local licensing regulations.
- Offers a variety of spa & well-being treatments including body & facial treatments.
WELLNESS MENU OF THE YEAR award application must include:
- Registration as a Spa business
- A digital copy of the full menu
- Full name and address (including social media and website URL) of the business.
