Informa, an international events, digital services and academic research group has acquired the Global Wellness Summit and the Global Wellness Institute, bringing two of the wellness sector’s most influential events and research organisations into its expanding health and medical portfolio.
Informa is listed on London Stock Exchange and is a member of FTSE 100, with 14,000 employees in 30 countries. Headquartered in London, it is a British publishing, business intelligence and exhibitions group. Informa owns numerous brands and events including the leading beauty & aesthetics events in Asia Pacific such as Cosmoprof, Cosmobeaute, China Beauty Expo and Beyond Beauty Tokyo.
The acquisition marks a significant change for the Global Wellness Summit established and led for almost two decades by wellness industry figure Susie Ellis, who will step away from the business on 1st January 2027. Nancy Davis, currently Chief Creative Officer and Executive Director of the Global Wellness Summit and Global Wellness Institute, will take over leadership of the newly formed Global Wellness Group within Informa’s Medical Division. The transaction will see the Global Wellness Summit and Global Wellness Institute brands retained, with the existing team also remaining in place.
The acquisition will give the organisations access to Informa’s international events, information and research infrastructure as the boundaries between wellness, preventative health, medicine and longevity continue to converge. The deal places the Global Wellness Group within Informa’s Medical Division, complementing the London-headquartered company’s existing activities across medical, longevity and aesthetics markets.
The Global Wellness Summit has increasingly focused its programming on subjects including longevity science, preventative health, women’s health, wellness travel, medical wellness and the role of technology in health and wellbeing. The acquisition by Informa could provide the Global Wellness organisations with a considerably larger platform to expand their events, education and research activities and connect wellness with adjacent medical and health industries.
The announcement comes ahead of the 20th anniversary Global Wellness Summit, which will take place at Angsana Laguna Phuket in Thailand from 10th to 13th November 2026.
